Lobsang teaches Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) that was founded by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979, and it featured in Bill Moyers’ documentary, “Healing and the Mind”. MBSR took many of the Buddhist meditation practices Lobsang has long used, and Westernized them, shifting the focus from a spiritual to a medical / health practice. This offered new tools for individuals to walk more in balance and reduce the mental, emotional, and physical impact from their daily lives and medical diagnoses.
Since 2012, Lobsang created "Mindful Waiting" sessions based on MBSR training and started teaching voluntarly at Elmwood Correctional Facility in Milpitas, CA, and it has helped inmates go through difficult time with a true mindfulness practice.
Additionally, Lobsang has dedicated much time and effort into learning Tibetan Medicine, including Kun Nye, the ancient Tibetan physical therapy. He wants to bring the ancient practice of Tibetan wellness to the modern world. Lobsang believes it is important to preserve the beauty of his culture as a true art of living, bringing body, mind, and soul into a natural balance through peace and happiness.
